As We Recall the Resurrection, Let Us Turn Our Hearts to Thoughts of Revival
By Ken Horn | March 22, 2008
This is Saturday of Holy Week. By rights, I should be writing a post on the celebration of the Resurrection. Believers do have so much to celebrate. But I hear the Holy Spirit saying something else to me right now: As we recall the Resurrection, we should turn our hearts to thoughts of revival.
These thoughts were common when revival was “in the air.” But the church has once again drifted.
Let me call you, the readers of this blog, back to thoughts of revival. We must have it! We must determine to do what it takes to see it return … a reviving Wind, God’s Holy Spirit in the body of Christ.
E.M. Bounds said this:
REVIVALS are among the charter rights of the church. They are the evidences of its divinity, the tokens of God’s presence, the witness of His power. The frequency and power of these extraordinary seasons of grace are the tests and preservers of the vital force in the church. The church which is not visited by these seasons is as sterile in all spiritual products as a desert, and is not and cannot meet the designs of God’s church. Such churches may have all the show and parade of life, but it is only a painted life.
—E.M. Bounds in the Christian Advocate, December, 1890.
Church, let us claim our rights! Let us claim revival!
